The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has issued a statement calling on the All Progressives Congress-led, APC, Federal Government, to concern itself on how to solve the economic hardship it has inflicted on Nigerians, rather than making wild allegations.
The PDP statement came immediately the United States of America, US, Secretary of State, John Kerry, arrived the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, and top government officials.
Kerry’s motorcade arrived the villa at about 3pm and was received by Buhari’s State Chief of Protocol, Lawal Kazaure.
The PDP also described as unfortunate, the statement credited to the APC National Chairman, Odigie-Oyegun, stating that the PDP hired spin doctors to brandish economic figures when the party was in government.
In a statement issued by the Director of New Media of the PDP, Deji Adeyanju, the party condemned Oyegun for thinking that the parlous state of the nation’s economy was an act of God.

“Chief Oyegun needs to concern himself more with the salient issues, such as “foreign investors, like the Sun International leaving Nigeria over a hostile working environment, where passports of staff can be seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for several months without a court order,” the statement advised.
It further noted that under the APC government: “Food prices have risen to the point where (N18, 000) minimum wage can no longer buy a bag of rice (which is now N20, 000). A bag of rice was N9, 000 at the inception of this administration.
“‎The incoherent monetary and fiscal policies of the Muhammadu Buhari administration, have led to exchange rates of $1–N315/N396, ‎£1 – N416.43/N510, €1–N359.26/N442.
“‎The unrestrained mass murder of Nigerians in the North-Central has left more than 1000 people dead in 2016 alone”.
